Artist Statement

 

Art is about experimentation, but not wild and untamed experimentation.  It’s more of a scientific endeavor or a systematic process of discovery.  Each painting is not only an experimental journey into the physical materials but it is also a study of how the finished product creates certain feelings within the observer.  Often, my work has a textured look that is incorporated into the theme of the painting.  The themes and meanings of the work explore the inner workings of the mind with a strong inspiration from my studies as a Psychology student.

Artist Biography

Victor DiPilato is an emerging artist who resides in South Florida (Jupiter).  His painting style ranges from photorealism to abstraction.  His unique abstract painting style is called fractured expressionism where the paintings take on a broken or shattered effect that is often incorporated into the theme of the painting.  Victor studied Psychology and Biomedical Science, and worked as a Chemistry teacher while teaching himself to paint in oils.

Victor DiPilato has participated in several juried exhibitions throughout Florida including the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series at N'Namdi Contemporary (Wynwood in Miami), the 7th Annual Juried Exhibition at JF Gallery (West Palm Beach), TEXTURED at ArtServe Gallery (Fort Lauderdale), the Continuum Art Fair at the Paul Fisher Gallery (West Palm Beach), Abstract Instincts at the House of Shadows Gallery (Tampa).  He is also a resident artist at Artlantic Fine Arts in Jupiter where he has participated in multiple groups exhibitions.
